My 3010 came used with the standard Kubota one hole frame mount drawbar. I have already discovered the first pain in the butt problem, which is that the drawbar hole is slightly too small to take the 1 in shank on a standard 2 & 5/16 hitch ball. The drawbar hole must be metric(?) so I will have to have it drilled out.
Another option that I have figured out is to get an aftermarket 9 hole drawbar that fits on the 3 point hitch bars. These drawbars even come with anti-rotate attachments so I could put the 2 & 5/16 ball at one end and a 1 & 7/8 at the other and tow what I need to tow. However, the Kubota manual is dead set against towing a trailer with the three point hitch. Anybody know why?

They are worried about you pulling from a higher point and pulling so hard you roll the tractor over backwards. the other problem that can arrise is when you brake, the 3 point can rise up unless held down. I have never had any trouble towing with 3 point and I don't bother to hold it down, but load is never bigger than tractor. ....

Your hitch can be over run from a load pushing harder then the weight of the hitch can hold down. This will cause damage to the hitch assembly. Mounting them in the bucket of the loader is also a nice option. ....

The other option is to just spend $8 and buy another hitch ball.
They come in two shank sizes, 3/4" & 1" depending on the weight they are rated to pull. The same is true of the 2" balls.
Best of luck.
